Youth Education and Empowerment through Skills – Tanzania (YEES TZ) as a non governmental organization was established from a vision to contribute to the development, empowerment and transformation of young people and vulnerable communities in Tanzania.
As the Founder of YEES TZ, I recognize that young people are an important force for social and economic development. However, many young people continue to face challenges including limited access to self supportive education, vocational skills, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, leadership development, innovation opportunities and meaningful participation in community development.
It is against this background that YEES TZ was established as a community-focused organization committed to empowering young people with knowledge, practical skills, opportunities and support that can enable them to become self-reliant, responsible and productive members of society.
The organization seeks to promote youth education and skills development, entrepreneurship and income-generating activities, girls' education, literacy, leadership, sports, innovation and community empowerment. YEES TZ also recognizes the importance of partnerships with government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, private sector actors, communities and other stakeholders in achieving sustainable development.
As the Founder, I believe that empowering a young person with knowledge, skills and opportunity is an investment in the future of the entire community. Therefore, YEES TZ shall strive to create opportunities through which young people can discover their potential, develop their abilities and contribute positively to their families, communities and nation.
YEES TZ shall operate on the principles of integrity, accountability, equality, inclusion, transparency, respect for human dignity, teamwork and sustainable community development.
This Preamble therefore expresses the founding vision and spirit of YEES TZ and shall guide the organization in fulfilling its mission and objectives for the benefit of present and future generations.
